hi, seeing as how i never played shogun as i wasn't really interested in the setting, i recently thought about getting it. now, i've found the gold edition, and the warlord edition, but i'm not sure which one is better, and whats the difference between them?

I've got the Warlord Edition and I love it!

They are essentially the same. The gold version comes patched, but I am not sure about the Warlord's one. I also read something about gold having no MP option, but maybe I am confused about that.

Gold Edition is equal to the Warlord Edition. There is no difference, and they are both equivalent to the original STW plus the Mongol Invasion ex pack.

I say Warlord for old time sake if you still want to use the fakeserver for MP .

Warlord Edition = Gold Edition

I still think the original STW was hard to beat. MI introduced a lot of silly fantasy units and imbalances. The original was harder as well because the AI had infinite koku.
